Requirements
The Driving Standards Agency set
legal requirements you must meet to
become an Approved Driving Instructor.
You must hold a full UK or European
Union car driving licence for a total
of at least four out of the past six
years prior to entering the register
after qualifying.
You should be a fit and proper person
to have your name entered on the register.
All convictions, including motoring
offences, will be taken into account
you will be subject to full police
check to assess your suitability to
be entered on the register.
You must be able to read a vehicle
number plate from a distance of 27.5m(90ft)
Pass the register qualifying examinations
and register within 12 months of doing
so.
You must pass the three qualifying
exams within a two-year period.
